Park and Ride Beautification Project - Thursday, May 08, 2008
The Park and Ride Beautification Project began last year as a community supported initiative to beautify the bus circle at the Ringwood Park and Ride. Community members contributed more than $4,000 for soil, plants, benches, and trees. The improvement to the circle has been enjoyed by visitors to the library, the children's playground, and of course the commuters. All have noticed the flowering and fruiting trees, shrubs, and perennials that have become part of the landscape. The bed contains a large herb garden, and beds of strawberries, blueberries, quince shrubs, and elderberry bushes. But the work is not complete!

This year, the Ringwood Farmers’ Market is looking for additional sponsorships to complete the planting with a permanent bed of perennial edibles, including shrubs, perennials, and flowers. This effort has been undertaken with no tax dollars, instead we rely on the generosity of the community to make the space attractive and fruitful.

Please help this project succeed by making a donation: Benches–$300; Trees–$150; Shrubs–$50; and Perennials–$25. If you would like to participate by making a donation to this project, please make checks payable to Eat Local, Inc. Send your check and contact information to Amy Jolin, Eat Local, 125 Upper Lakeview Ave. Ringwood, NJ  07456. All donations are tax deductible.  Your contribution will be remembered with a commemorative plaque.
